Taylor Swift on Stephen Colbert (gives many 1989 TV hints)

Apr 14, 2021 15:48

Hey! I watched this interview and just loved it. Stephen's wife/crew laughing the whole time in the background is just the best.

This is my first post, so I'm sorry if there are any mistakes!

If I was her I'd rerecord that one next too. It's easily her most famous/commercially successful album and rerecording it would be a huge blow to the worth of her back catalogue.

yeah if she's already going out of order then it makes by far the most sense. do you think she'd next do Red? I kinda feel like she might save that one for last since if she goes completely in order of popularity then people will lose interest a lot faster

I'm guessing she'll do 1989 and either Red or Reputation next, then Taylor Swift and save Speak Now for last so she doesn't have to deal with Better than Revenge or Mean lmfao. I'm guessing she's praying they'll fold and resell them to her before she has to figure out how to blackmail Camilla Belle into cosigning it

yeahhhhh lol I don't think she'll change Mean, that one's too iconic and it's not really offensive so much as just petty.

I wouldn't be too surprised either if she decides to not actually record some of her albums in their entirety and just releases a singles collection of her hits or w/e. she might get bored of it and want to move on at some point, and also there's def going to be some public fatigue by then. or she'll only record songs as she gets requests to license them, and she'll just turn down the ones for songs she doesn't really want to rerecord. not that I think anyone's really hankering to use Better Than Revenge in a Diet Coke commercial anyway

when the original Fearless came out I still had a big ole crush on Stephen Colbert (yes I was like 15/16 idk either) so I was all about "Hey Stephen" lmao

I didn't think it was that funny but the person laughing in the background made it funnier.
