Daniel and Lakeith you could argue are co-leads but Lakeith is really is the lead-lead so I’m fine with the supporting cat for Daniel. Even though I don’t think performance was that great. It was fine but not OMG either.

I kinda wish the actress who played Fred’s gf could’ve gotten a support nom cause I thought she was cute and interesting.

So who are the leads in Ma Rainey's Black Bottom then? Chadwick was 100% the lead of that film. I could see Viola in supporting but am fine with her in lead. Daniel is fine in supporting, but I could see the argument that he and Lakeith were co-leads. Lakeith in supporting is what doesn't make a damn bit of sense to me.

I thought lakeith was good but not a threat for BA.

Absolutely ridiculous. I thought Lakeith was great but yeah, the award is Chadwick's to lose. I don't think Lakeith would've been any real threat considering the circumstances (whether that's right or not).

I think voters voted for LaKeith in both Lead and Supporting, but because Lead is STACKED this year and Supporting was a little less full, he made it through in Supporting

IIRC LaKeith didn’t really campaign either way but the screeners that the studio sent out told people to vote for him in Lead
