Lana Del Rey praises city's pledge to pay Black reparations, receives more critical raves

Lana Del Rey took to her Instagram Stories yesterday to share her excitement over the City Council of Evanston, Illinois' 8-1 vote to distribute $400,000 to Black households in the Chicago suburb as reparations "for past discrimination and the lingering effects of slavery."

"First city to pay Black reparations," Del Rey wrote, sharing a screenshot of the news. "This is amazing. The city where my father was born."
