On Twitter, a site revealed that an R-rated version of the beloved comedy exists.

Director Christopher Columbus confirmed to Entertainment Weekly that an R rated version exists.

I absolutely do NOT want to see this. I LOVE Mrs. Doubtfire. This is a movie about a man cross dressing as an older woman, that came out in 1993. There is NO way it isn’t misogynistic and transphobic. Keep it. Don’t ruin the magic.

I rewatched this a few months ago and daniel was a burning hot mess. even as a kid I didn't think miranda was some huge bitch but I still had sympathy for him, but watching it as a grown woman... he was irresponsible as fuck and instead of getting his shit together like a normal person he chose to infiltrate his damn family like he was on some secret mission. disturbing tbh

like as a kid I kept rooting for him to get the kids back, now I just wanted him to fuck off and let miranda enjoy her life with stu's fine ass

But it's such a fun wholesome movie (mostly lol) and it wouldn't exist otherwise.

sally field talked about all the extra takes on graham norton, she said that for the most part the movie was made up of the first take that was completely scripted.
