What Having Covid-19 Was Like For Celebrities

This morning I tested positive for Covid 19. I feel ok, I have no symptoms so far but have been isolated since I found out about my possible exposure to the virus. Stay home people and be pragmatic. I will keep you updated on how I’m doing 👊🏾👊🏾 No panic. pic.twitter.com/Lg7HVMZglZ

At first I was tired and then was cold, I kept sleeping with layers and layers on and even with a little heater and that didn’t work. This went on for a couple of days, even though my mom had a severe case of covid I told myself I didn’t have it. Plus my work said that I was still expected to come to work because even though I live with my parents I wasn’t “taking care of her”. Work was exhausting with so many customers so I told myself that I was just tired. Then one day, my lungs and chest just started to hurt. I slept almost the entire day and when I woke up I got a huge ass fever and my chest felt like it was tightening. I became drenched in sweat and started to feeling dizzy, I had a hard time going down the stairs on my way to the hospital. They took X-rays of my lungs and confirmed I had pneumonia, then they gave me a covid test and ran blood work and also gave me fluids for dehydration. I was on intense meds for about 2 weeks. Then I was on bed rest and quarantine for another 2 weeks.

I haven't had it but my mom had it and more people in my office had it than not. How I didn't catch it idk but im thankful

Most of my coworkers still get winded and one still doesn't have her taste back and it's been since about mid February and she's so mad :(

I just can't believe its been a year. Like, I remember a lot of things vividly but it still feels like a big blur.

I didn't ever get COVID that I know of, and only knew two people personally who have gotten it - I guess there are probably more, but they are the only two I know of for sure. One was my cousin's husband (and probably the whole family, lbr, but he was the only one with symptoms) and the other was my dad's girlfriend, who was living alone at the time bc of job stuff. He's a late 20's healthy white male, she's in her early 60's and overweight with asthma. They were both really sick - chills, fatigue, fever, digestive issues, etc - for at least a week, but thankfully neither one needed to be hospitalized and they both recovered without lingering symptoms.

My mom's 72 yo coworker with multiple health issues contracted it and was hospitalized, and my mom was really worried about her making it through, but she survived.

I feel really lucky to have avoided getting it to this point & to have gotten the vaccine. Just waiting on a few more family members to be eligible so I can set up appointments... can't wait til we're all vaccinated.

Have you had covid-19, ontd? What were your symptoms like (if you had any)?

No but I did fall sick in February of last year and I still wonder if it was covid

The November-March bracket is such a stressor in times of a pandemic. So many Covid symptoms collide with the usual winter illnesses, you get so paranoid.

It probably was. I was pretty sick for a week around the same time but obviously couldn’t get tested because tests were scarce then. I had lingering symptoms (insomnia, waves of inflammation, digestive upset, deep apathy, ear pain, spine and back soreness) for about 2 months. Then I felt the same symptoms to a lesser extent at the end of last year and tested positive. No one can tell me I haven’t had it twice. Probably different strains, but still. I used to run errands and such but I’m basically a hermit now and barely leave the house.

Didn't get it (yet?). Very thankful. Got my first Moderna two weeks ago. I had a sore arm for a bit, and now I have a very very light rash/bruise thing around the area, but nothing terrible. I hear the second shot will fuck me up though. Yay?
