Yes, it was waaaaaaay too close for comfort in a lot of ways, but I want to see the fall of Gilead. I was so excited at the end of last season with the Waterfords and what happened in the last episode with the plane.
I'm surprised it's coming out in April, I thought it'd be later. TBH, I found the last season just too brutal and anxiety-inducing and I had to skim a lot of the episodes, particularly [Spoiler (click to open)]when they showed the scene towards the 'beginning' of Gilead, with June and the other women watching as disabled women were shoved off trucks, into a room and then presumably taken to be killed; and all the stuff in D.C. with the mouth stitches.
Although has anyone read The Testaments? I know Hulu picked up the rights to adapt it, but I'm really curious as to what they're going to do with their version of The Handmaid's Tale to make it line up (or not) with the sequel book, since some of the characterization and revelations from The Testaments book I don't see working with their series.
The DC stuff disturbed me out of continuing with the rest of the season too tbh, just thinking of it now is just as unsettling as watching it that first time
the DC stuff was so disturbing made me so so so so uncomfortable after watching it, but I felt better after realizing that that could never be physically possible. those women's teeth would just rot out of their skulls and they wouldn't be able to like... eat or drink at all? it was done for shock value, and it worked, but it made no damn sense
