If you're into misery porn, go read A Little Life. 800 pages of reader tears.

> Holland proves his skills but not a single moment in the film is believeable or even enjoyable.

I bet they're gonna save this line for Chaos Walking.

I’ll watch it simply for the Rachel Rabbit White connection (which happened 10 years after this movie’s time frame). She’s been tweeting about how the ad campaign has nothing to do with the movie or how weird it is in general.

what's your opinion on her? i was kind of into her during the whole ~hooker laureate of the dirtbag left~ thing, but increasingly i feel like she's just yet another version of the emperor's new clothes, both the poetry & the persona

I am still not entirely sure how I feel about her/her work! I def see what you’re talking about, and I guess that’s been my problem. I had heard about her writing a few years back when I was interested in sex workers (from an academic perspective and just general curiosity). She has some essays I found on Thought Catalog which feel more reflective/introspective than what she publishes now. I think the persona has taken center stage since that’s what is getting her Vogue pictorials. I haven’t read enough of her poetry to have an opinion about it, because for all the brouhaha around it I have only seen maybe 2 poems at most available online. I don’t blame her for any of her actions- make money b ( ... )

I met her like 5-6 years ago randomly in Brooklyn and am still semi-dumbfounded with what she's become. I hope she feels freer because at one point the SW was really making her extremely anxious.
