This animation is a little scary in the still lol.

I was so obsessed with Rugrats as a kid. I had a 3 ft Tommy jigsaw puzzle, I had Rugrats bedding, I had a Dill baby doll. I plagiarized the storyline of Tommy being in the hospital for 8 days for my autobiography in 2nd or 3rd grade and was prompted for my details which I could not provide. My childhood was basically formed around that show!

I was literally about to edit my comment to talk about the video games! I had them on PlayStation and get a little nostalgic for them. They never got old somehow, I played them over and over lol.

This actually don't look bad to me. I did watch Rugrats as a kid but it's been years since I've seen it - it's nice that they got the original voice actors because the characters do sound like I remember them as a kid (unlike Big Bird - he was in a commercial recently and the voice was completely different, no attempt to try to get close to the prior voice actor).

This animation style is throwing me off in so many ways (WHY) but FINALLY. I've been looking forward to this! Rugrats was my favorite cartoon growing up, tbh.

A few weeks before I left Nickelodeon they showed the concept art and stills of the animated designs. I like it, it looks like a fun way of combining 2D and 3D.

I worked at Viacom (which owns Nick) for a long time and appreciate this easter egg now more than ever lol. Reptar was the best

I...disagree.

I work in animation on a show using Unreal for the first time. Is this them using Unreal as well and trying to amalgamate 2D + 3D?

I also think I hate it bc it looks like a bad shroom trip. Of which I may or may not have had while watching Rugrats 😂
