That poor kid. To get to that level of frustration. And then have you dad tell everyone 🙄 I hope he finds better supports for his son because clearly this ain't it. And it seems dismissive when he says "basic bit of arithmetic." It's not about the math, like get your son proper help.

I have so many questions. “Rent” teenagers?? Why didn’t you hire adult teachers? Why did he tell this story? How old is his kid? Again, why did he tell this story?

All my maths teachers hated being a teacher and were so bad at teaching kids who didn't instantly get it. I had untreated ADHD and was genuinely suicidal before math tests but now that I'm teaching myself as an adult through effing YT videos I ... get it?

Also I've definitely been crazy frustrated learning math. Still have flashbacks of my parents trying to teach me at the dinner table and me just crying/sobbing because I just wasn't getting it. Oof.
