Tbh they're lucky it went to streaming because I don't think it would have done well in theaters because of bad word of mouth. Opposite of Birds of Prey (which people should still watch instead!!)

Also...

"For the week of Dec 21-27, the film was wacthed 2.25 billion of minutes , it's also more than the previous most watched film Soul (1.67 billion of minutes watched)"

But Soul is a much shorter movie. It's only an hour and a half long. (With super long credits lol)

I think it would’ve done well at the box office just because of it’s hype at the time.

But me personally I’m glad it went to streaming cause I would’ve left the theaters pissed lol. I handled this better at home lol.

Exactly. If you do the math Including credits) Soul was watched 16.7m times while WW84 was watched 15m times.

I get that Nielsen is doing their best to transition to the streaming era but they are being so transparently used for a press release in this case. If HBO Max isn't willing to make all their data available like Netflix, Disney+, Prime and Hulu have done then it's kind of shady for them to work with Nielsen only when they already know they have a hit.

HBO Max has the best streaming library, but lmao at them scrambling to get this out after the Nielsen already reported ratings for this week with Soul at #1 a few days ago. (And if you do the math on runtime this still implies fewer viewers for WW84 than Soul.)
