"Someone said that romance was dead And I believed it instead- Of remembering what my- Mama told me Let my- father mold me Then you- tried to hold me You remind me what they said!!! This feeling inside.... I can't explain... But my love is alive... And I'm- never gonna hide it again!!!!!!!!!!"
this song came up on shuffle for me the other day and i always forget until i'm halfway through it what a jam it is
i listened to it a million times in high school when i was anticipating ~leaving~ my hometown for college (a whole hour and a half away). the day i moved i was driving my car and my parents were driving behind me and as we got on the highway i put this song on to have a little moment but halfway through my dad called to tell me he'd just realized we'd forgotten something and 18 year old me was so mad he'd ruined my vibe
but even now in 2021 that OOOOOOH YEAHHHH IIIIIIIIII'M LEAVIIIIIIIN TODAAAAAAAY gets me every time
I played and sang this song in the car while driving to la after my divorce finalized and I cleared out my house to start all over. 😂. Instant classic.
i played it when i had to move out of my first la apartment because i couldn't find a job and ran out of the money i saved to move. my friend let me use his car and blessedly he had stripped and a cd player. i remember cruz playing as i drove off, exhausted from packing and scared i would have to give up on my dreams. it was a bad time but it felt cinematic
lol I remember not liking Christina during this era because she was snarky and starting too many one-sided fights with the other pop girls (while presenting a feminist theme in her music)
But regardless I did give her credit for taking her career into her own hands and doing what she wanted.
Same. I always like Dirrty but as for her personally she always rubbed me the wrong way with her seemingly poor attitude (tho maybe it was a result of the backlash, idk) but she did seem to be getting or instigating quite a few fights with various people. But at least she got take control of the reins and do what she wanted as opposed to churning out another Britney sounding album
I'm a stan. I also acknowledge she wasn't the nicest at the height of her popularity (quite a few second-hand, but reliable accounts). It's been a while since I heard anything though so I hope she's better now.

If a guy have three girls then he's the man. He can even give her some head, then sex her raw.
But if a girl do the same, then she's a whore (?!)
