ugh white people need to really stop commenting on the whole china and dog meat discussion. their racism just shows. they start all these campaigns, like her and simon cowell, and wanna act like saviours when as you point out, they’re hypocrites in their own countries in the first place. and like there aren’t chinese animal rights activists who are working on stopping the festival? how about support them instead?
reminds me of pamela anderson and the whole “omg stop killing baby seals!!1” 🙄

Bravo should've fired her performative ass too. 2021 needs a lot of things, but more VPR isn't one of them.

honestly I'm believing more and more it's willful ignorance?? Not even in the service of these white people secretly being in any hate groups but more like the idea that if they're forced to recognize micro-aggressions for how racist they actually are then they'd have to do some self evaluation and question their own actions

yep, acknowledging that racism is far more subtle and insidious than straight up yelling white power requires FAR more effort and self change than most ppl are willing to put in. racism has gone underground and people don’t want to dig up their own ~beautiful egalitarian~ garden.

Exactly, and that personal accountability conflicts with their perceived 'wokeness'. Bottom line is that there are so many different forms of racial bias and not examining ones own is difficult work not everyone wants to do
