I know people say Shakira changed her sound but to me Dónde están los ladrones? sounds similar to Piez Descalzos and I KNOW people say that she was NOT famous yet but in my country Piez Descalzos singles played on the radio and Dónde están los ladrones? was EVERYWHERE with Ciega, Sordomuda and Inevitable. Then Ojos Asi came out and you had a bunch of girls in my school thinking they can Belly Dance, lol. The Unplugged was played a lot too in MTVLa.

Rant over. lol.

Oh and:

Aunque también me gustabas cuando estabas más gordita.
Con el pelito negrito y la cara redondita.
Así medio roquerita.

My fave Shakira, she comes every once in a while, see: Antes de las Seis and Dia de Enero. I love those songs!

People who talk shit about the quality of her post-crossover music are ignorant and have never paid attention. Her Laundry Service music is very her (Poem to a Horse, Underneath Your Clothes, The One are very 90s Shakira *and let me add the perfection that's Que me quedes tú) and Fijación Oral Vol. 1 is a perfect album, even though I love Dónde Están los Ladrones.

And since we're at that, justice for Gordita as a single.
