I'm glad she reached out to her friend and is being so open about this. This year has been profoundly difficult. I wish people were less into promoting productivity and self-improvement during these times when some days it really is an achievement to get out of bed.

Yeah, one our higher-ups sent out an email during one our first full lockdowns to “encourage” us to make the best of things, telling us all about all the new things he has learned to do....meanwhile my work-from-home workload is still insane and made so much harder due to the lockdown, I’m dealing with mental health issues and with the fact that I can’t travel to see my family.

Gurl, I feel you. I'm surrounded by a bunch of high-achievers, and from the get-go I was like, yeah! I'm gonna be productive too. Cut to me playing video games, struggling to get work done, and barely exercising lol.

And the people flinging their dumbass, irresponsible influencer lifestyle in my face while I couldn't fly home for a relative's funeral was just absolute salt in the wound.

She's mentioned mental heath issues before so this tracks.

I mean at the beginning of the virus entering the US and miscommunication regarding masks, and then leaving the house after the initial lockdown was pretty anxiety-inducing.

I can kinda laugh to myself now but in the beginning it really was "is this coronavirus or just anxiety?"😱😨😰

I really feel for her, this year has done a number on all of us in some way or another.

This might seem a fast and rapid descent into contemplation of suicide but its not, been there a couple of times and when I reflect im amazed at how quick it all was. Im glad she can see whats happening before it gets to the actual attempt and that she has people that she can talk to and who will listen to her.

I’m thankful she feels able to talk about this, it’s easy to think of her as a strong black woman who isn’t affected but things like this. Same with Tamar Braxton, I was shocked to hear about her attempt but glad to hear she had family supporting her.
