I feel like this one is really gonna divide audiences. It's VERY different from the first one and I've already seen a lot of comments, particularly from dudebros ripping it to shreds, and I get it, but at the end of the day it is wholeheartedly Wonder Woman.

Basically people whose opinions don't matter won't like the film. Oh well :P

A black female reviewer for Vulture also panned the film...

“The disappointing sequel highlights [...] the dire state of Hollywood filmmaking as a whole.” #WonderWoman1984 isn’t just bad for a superhero film, it’s an outright travesty. my latest review for @vulture. https://t.co/e1oNsj8C7t

I read the article and see she has nuanced opinions on the film, which is to be expected. That said, with my comment I was referring specifically to the "dudebros" mentioned by the person I was responding to, who almost universally hate Wonder Woman because she's a woman and her story is a woman's story, even if it features reused tropes about magical items or back-from-the-dead love interests.

Sucks that the actor is a piece of garbage.

I liked the "weird electric cello theme."

Anyway, I am looking forward to this. I go see a movie every Christmas, and though it's obvious that tradition won't be happening this year, I imagine this is what I'll end up watching.

Same. It was iconic for me immediately when I first heard it and I hope this movie has a variation on it as well.

i've been really glad these have been well-received if only because it they weren't you know the takeaway would have ~female lead can't carry superhero movie~.
