Honestly I don't see the point in this investigation. Sure it'd be sad if Diana was duped into doing this interview under false pretenses, but what was said was said. Even if she was dubiously convinced to give this interview, I don't think that would change the validity of what she said in it.

I don't think it's about the validity of her statements for her family- it's about accountability in possibly fueling her paranoia/mental health decline. There's nothing okay in what Bashir and the BBC allegedly did, whether she meant it or not.

Also, perhaps for her brother and son, it could be about the domino effect- she lost her HRH (which she was reportedly devastated by), refused royal officers who might have prevented her from getting in that car in Paris...I imagine it's about the what ifs, at least somewhat.

I don't remember where I read it but I read a really heartbreaking thing that at 12 (?) Prince William had to console his mom the best he could and told her that once he'd be king he'd give her the HRH back. She was apparently also upset that she had to bow to her kids

Yeah - and there's still 2 more seasons to go. If it was *only* this season, fans may move on after conversation around the show dissipates, but there are 2 more left... so conversation/feelings around the show will be a slow burn in the public consciousness. Season 5 won't premiere until 2022 tho from what I recently read.

Lol I love it how GenZ especially realised about this just now because of a netflix show. Charles and Camilla have been sleeping w each other since the 70s. Probably if it wasn't for Diana they would have been PRd as the UK's biggest love story. But 1 they ugly outside 2. They ugly inside.

This panorama interview was rather traumatic for Prince William so I'm glad he's getting something hopefully some justice. At the end of the day he's human.
