Home Improvement and Everybody Loves Raymond, are in my mind, the shows right-wing assholes usually love

The Simpsons was on there for a microsecond

I also was surprised not to see W&G and that Simpsons only had a very brief appearance, I felt the latter especially had such a huge viewership

I loved Who’s the Boss as a child, but had no idea it was that successful. Watching Murphy Brown made me feel all grown up.
And man, the Cosby Show dominated...and not just in the US, but in so many other countries as well. I don’t see a show with an all-black cast being able to that in 2020. In some ways we’ve gone backwards

IKR? I did NOT know The Cosby Show dominated for as many years as it did. I also didn’t know A Different World was so highly rated, even though it’s literally one of my favorite shows of all time. I agree, I just...don’t think that would happen today, for a number of reasons. It’s sad

A Different World is great in its own right, but the fact that it was on right after The Cosby Show, which was at the top of the ratings, definitely helped.

I hate that everything we learned about what an awful person Cosby is has ruined The Cosby Show. Clearly, his behaviour and the women he affected is the biggest problem in the grand scheme of things, but it's also a real shame for everyone else who worked on the show.

So basically GOT ruled for a whole ass decade.

I'm surprised Friends was only on top for a microsecond considering its cultural relevance

i thought the same about friends

lol as someone who's never watched GOT, its dominance in pop culture & disappointing ending is the exact story of why I never started watching. so often these huge shows implode.

i'm not surprised about friends, seinfeld and ER always dominated it that decade
