Movie fans have long discussed who the main villain is in The Devil Wears Prada. Some will say Miranda Priestly. Others will say it’s actually Andy's shitty friends in an argument that they think is subversive, as if people haven’t constantly been pointing that out for the past 14 years.

But me, the humble fasdsr2? I would argue it’s the movie ( Read more... )

She's a real piece of work for some who insists on keeping that bob hairstyle.

"Oprah Winfrey had to drop 20 pounds before she was allowed on the cover of Vogue."

how awful :(

I cannot stand Anna Wintour but she didn't force Oprah to lose weight for Vogue. Oprah could have been like fuck you bitch and kept it moving. I'd put her racism at the top of the list, which includes the Bon Appetit BS.

Lol it wasn’t listed in order of importance, and obviously no one is literally “forced” to do anything, but it’s valid to call out people being pressured to do things.

As if that somehow makes it okay? She is still a p.o.s. for insisting that a woman needed to be thin to earn a cover of Vogue.

I feel like this is how all high fashion magazines, designers, modeling agencies etc. think and act to be honest. They're terrified of fat people, the racism and classism is through the roof and if you ever confront them about it they'll just tell you how they're an ~exclusive brand/company whatever that's trying to give off the unattainable image, as if that somehow excuses their behavior. And why would you want your brand to come off that way anyway, fuck exclusivity and that whole superiority complex that comes with it.

I remember Christian Siriano mentioning that when he included more plus size clothing, his profits doubled. He thought it was odd that fashion houses would avoid the idea of doubling profits.

It baffles me. It’s such a large yet under-served demographic that any designer who actually got off their ass and stopped acting like they’re allergic to it would rake in cash. But no, we don’t want to make money when we can... *checks notes*... be snooty instead.

WHAT THE FUCK - Vogue once had a piece about breast cancer, which included an airline stewardess. She didn’t want a - god forbid - stewardess in the magazine though, so the magazine had to find a high-flying businesswoman who'd had cancer.
