while i am just guessing, i do imagine this is going to unfold to show that she was grooming and manipulating him. at the end, when the other kid is like "you slept with your teacher? you're a legend." he looks like he now knows he was a victim. to be honest, in 2020, that's the only version of this story that gets produced. which, thank god.
