I mean, movies like this don’t make stars. The movies themselves are the stars. There’s Harrison but he seems more like the exception and not the rule.

This is said as someone who has only seen episode four and half of five.

Your comment got me thinking and you're right that Harrison is the exception and not the rule. I'm struggling to think of another actor who started in a franchise who became a bone fide movie star.

I was about to say Jennifer Lawrence, but she already had an Oscar nom before Hunger Games. She was still pretty unknown to the general public when she got Hunger Games, though.

She was still getting offers though. Granted, she got A LOT more offers and another franchise, but Jennifer is probably one of the last actors somewhat made in a franchise.

I mean Star Wars has a thing for a specific looking brunette females. She fit that mold and got cast for it. Wasn’t there a rumor she wasn’t great in the first film and they were constantly working with her to get her performance better? Idk.

She had her lightning moment with Star Wars. She can hit the convention circuit for life and make cash, which is more than a lot of mediocre actors can say.

The post says she's doing voice work for a video game, so maybe she can go Mark Hamill's route and be a prolific voice actor?

She's going to need to get way better at accents and actually changing her voice if she wants to have anything approaching Mark's VA career.

Sometimes I daydream about being a famous actress but I don’t think I could deal with the constant job insecurity that comes with being an actor.

honestly i think about how brokenhearted i am after i don't get a job after a job interview... i can't imagine having to audition for every role against hundreds of people.

I'd still be dressing in second-hand stuff and driving a VW or something like that while I put my money in the best possible savings/safe investments. Of course, not forever if I managed to be actually good at it, but my mind boggles when people rush to spend everything the moment they get it.
