At the Edinburgh Television Festival, Emilia Clarke talked with “Last Christmas” director Paul Feig about how she made her television debut on the BBC soap “Doctors” where she had to deal with smelling the camera man’s flatulence during her scene’s only take. She also gives some advice to people who want to become an actor

I've been wanting to rewatch GOT but got the ending. I think I'll skip most of S5 and stop watching at the end of 803 and pretend that the rest of my head cannon is true.

I do wonder how big budget shows like Game of Thrones can't find extraordinarily talented young people to fill their leads. she improved a lot and some of it was bad writing, but I have a hard time believing she was the best available acting wise.

she is so naturally charming, though.

Her character was recast too! I would love to see the original pilot (that was apparently horrendous) and see how bad the original Dany was.

It’s a shame that the writing never worked with how charming she is. Dany has a lot of sweet, lovely moments in the books and they took those out when adapted to make her seem more “badass” and I actually think Emilia would have done really well with those.
