PLS. Leak the skincare routine Ms. Davis. I know she is one of the finest thinkers of our time, but we contain multitudes!

Her vegan diet and eating healthy likely has a lot to do with it.

I am a fan of ava's work but i was .... suprised by some of her political statements. suprised is the wrong word but w/e

wondering what this interview did for her internally tbh. if anything shifted for her re: abolition.

Cannot get over what has transpired this week in wisconsin.

i want to look that poised and dignified at her age

also, yes

no seriously tho. even angela davis admitted that colorism was the reason why she was usually put as the face for the black panthers https://t.co/xlnPF1do8d

cant find the direct quote abt it tho. basically she said light skin activists havent done enough to address colorism and their privilege.

that doesn't even make sense because she wasn't a panther but three of the most prominent panther women - elaine brown, kathleen cleaver, and ericka huggins - are angela's shade

I read her biography and she talks very carefully about her association with the black panthers, as the movement was very different ideologically from place to place (and across time, of course) and she only joined (at least for certain activities) them when they agreed to respect her previous involvement with the communist party. I highly doubt she would say that in any capacity other than maybe the media representation of it?
But she does talk extensively about her status as a light skinned black person within and without her community, and it's very enriching to read.

she really disappointed me with her getting angry @ people pointing out that she happened to omit joe biden as the co-sponsor of the crime bill.
