I watched an interview with him and Maitreyi and he is so dumb and conceited and was exactly like his character. Even though Maitreyi was 10 years younger than him she seemed so much smarter and well spoken than him.

The Godfather part 1

Al Pacino was 31 and Simonetta Stefanelli (who played his wife Apollonia) was 16. She does a topless love scene with him.

I've been seeing a few Kdramas pulling this. The lead actor is way older (pushing 40s or more) and the female lead is still early to mid-20s. It's annoying.

I don't mind *as much* if the age difference is part of the plot. What always makes me laugh is the implication that they're "basically" the same age.

Yeah that first part usually~ doesn't bother me but I was reading the plot of a movie with one of my faves (who's 40) and his wife was played by Bae Suzie and I was just, you gotta be kidding me lol

this! those kind of age gaps are not terribly uncommon IRL - it's when we're supposed to pretend that in a fantasy world, women magically don't age and men do... that is legitimately harmful. it's just erasing women who've visibly aged from all media and rendering them inconsequential as human beings

Taylor Momsen was 13 when they filmed the pilot of Gossip Girl where Ed Westwick (who was like 19) had to kiss her and pretend to almost rape her. And she was 15 and Chace Crawford was 22 during the Jenny/Nate storyline. How was any of that authorised?

Also Claire Danes was 16 and Leo DiCaprio was 22 when they filmed Romeo and Juliet and they had to do sex scenes.

Wtf are the age guidelines/rules for this in the US or are there none?

i think as long as the parents approve it's allowed. of course most stage parents would literally set their child on fire for a modicum of fame.

Taylor Momsen being part of the Gossip Girl cast never made any sense, she was considerably younger than everybody else and there was no reason for it at all, it just made things weirder, and probably more complicated for them, too. I don't believe they couldn't just find somebody older.

Yeah in the show the character was supposed to be just 2 years younger than the rest of the characters and the other actors were 20ish so idk why they couldn’t have hired someone who was at least 18.
