I do think it's out of line for people who pole dance publicly, especially for profit and using strip club imagery, to insist that there's a difference between them as artists/athletes and women who strip. It reveals how much they don't want to be associated with certain parts of the world/experience that they're voluntarily associating with...
If you learned from strippers, you shouldn't shy away from giving them credit for that, or featuring them and their skills on your platform.
But I also don't think to pole dance at all someone has to be advocate for sex work. There are a lot of arguments against sex work that don't involve dehumanizing the people who engage in it.
I don't know, I agree with some of this and other parts seem to be lacking nuance.

I think if you are taking aspects from someone's culture that is stigmatiized and removing it from the community and positioning yourself and that act (as performed by you..) as less vulgar, it's appropriation.
and if you can't support the destigmatization for people that do it for a living is really gross.
