Aria and her English teacher, Mr. Fitz (! I see it’s on the list)

at this point I'm shocked when a teen show doesn't feature a student/adult (usually teacher) plotline

When I was going over the list I realized it’s happened on teen shows a lot more than I thought!

It’s funny bc I remember it being kinda scandalous when DC did it and now it’s just the norm

When Will suspended Marley for refusing to dress in a revealing, provocative outfit on stage in Glee.

whuuuut

The worst thing was that this was the episode of Glee that aired the week after the Cory Monteith tribute episode. Like I know they wanted some normalcy after that episode, but it was total tonal whiplash

Right it was so fucked up. And as someone said in the recent Glee post, all the people that gave her grief for it were men too.

So basically the guy who played Chuck on Gossip Girl was playing himself?

Also Sikowitz is my 7th grade science teacher. Except I think she didn't even wait to go home, she assault them on campus, too*

*my mom and I were always really weirded out about how close she was to the male students and were 100% not surprised when she was found sleeping with a student in a parking lot.

Laughing at the user comment included under the “Chuck sold Blair for a hotel entry!” Like yes call out the Buzzfeed writers who refused to put Chuck and Blair on their “toxic couples” list but shoe horned in Dan and Blair at a top spot.

Wait, there's a list with Dan/Blair as one of the most toxic couples? What was the justification for that

Because he was poor and was judgmental of the rich lmao

Yeah there was a post on here featuring another buzzfeed list about the worst couples from teen show (link: https://ohnotheydidnt.livejournal.com/118467391.html ) and all of the Gossip Girl couples were on it but not Chuck and Blair. Reasoning from the article (that I copy and pasted lol):
[Spoiler (click to open)]
Why they don't work: First of all, Dan was a horrible person who felt entitled to Blair because he was "nicer" than Chuck (was he though??). Blair clearly dated him because everything had fallen through with Louis and she was questioning who she was.
Special note from Kelly: Let the record show that I do not agree with them being on this list, but my co-writer felt very strongly about including them. *Sobs*

Funny thing is that the co-author of that list, is the main author of the one from this post so she was basically forced to own up to her Chuck and Blair stanning bullshit

Wow, the Chuck Bass thing is sooooo fucked up. I honestly will forgive shows if they write a character one way early on and then decide "whoops we actually want them to be like this so please forget we wrote them that way" but having it be habitual throughout the seasons is clearly just them condoning that behavior

I've been re-working my way through Buffy (just finished season 4) and I have sooooo many thoughts about Spike's character and people who love/hate him lol, especially knowing where his character goes. I think truly some writers just have no idea where they want their characters to be longterm and you end up with irresponsible writing at best.

spike is a blight on that show and more power to anyone that can enjoy it after his rise to prominence

Yeah I mean for 90% of his time on the show, Spike was a souless vampire. We're not meant to see him as a good guy. I don't think the writers wanted us to see him as good. Thirsty fangirls might have been woobifying him, but yeah.... I lay that at fandom's feet.

That said, Spike is one of my favorite characters on the show so. lol @ me. But while I think he's a fun character, I'm not like idolizing him and thinking he's good.
