I remember first seeing him hosting the after-show recap of The Hills on MTV Canada. He really had a career glowup.

the hills aftershow was great/really blew up though. i remember it started small and juts for mtv canada, but eventually it because the aftershow for the actual show, and the cast members would fly up to toronto to be on it all the time

Yeah it was funny to watch from the beginning when it was tongue in cheek and shit talking and then eventually just became part of the franchise itself. Also set the stage for so many reality tv aftershows.

I remember when they revealed the rumor about Justin-Bobby and Lauren hooking up and people in the audience screamed like they had witnessed a murder.

I sat in the audience of MTV Live once with my college class back in 2007 when he was hosting. It’s still insane to me that he’s now big in the US and networks actually had bidding wars to make deals with him.

Anyone remember him in Degrassi Goes Hollywood?? Masterpiece!

My pics wouldn't load and I was reading these comments thinking Dan Levy was the older dad guy... This comment made me double-check.

I remember Kumail Nanjiani tweeting something similar a few years ago and that thats why he always tries to be nice to interviewers because some celebs are just not great to them.

retail can be soul crushing, esp. during these crazy times, but I'm good at it so weirdly I enjoy it lol. for me, the most soul-crushing work experience was working in higher ed marketing throughout the pandemic + BLM protests. it's so difficult to be a queer latino and see how administration is failing to actually act on their ~brand promises~ while being the person who has to execute and promote that image when I don't believe it's true.

Call center for an airline. Bunch of people yelling at you over things that are out anyone’s control.

Retail was shitty for me surprisingly not because of the customers but instead because of the horrible management

I loved food service and honestly the customers weren’t bad at all for the most part, I worked in a touristy restaurant by the beach so maybe people were usually in a good mood?

I would say the most soul crushing is my current job, it’s in health insurance and I really think it’s an evil industry, I get to be the one to tell providers “your patients procedure was denied” “but she’s in so much pain she can’t even use her arms!” “Sry, you can appeal if u want, want the form?”

It’s awful and I would be job hunting if it wasn’t for the pandemic

I also feel what you said about not believing in the image your company is trying to promote, mine is all about “the patient comes first” bitch no it doesn’t you don’t give a fuck about these patients.

ugh that sucks hopefully you can find another job soon.

also yes @ management being the worst part of retail. they provide no training, hire high school kids and then wonder why everything sucks.
