The Old Guard is a Netflix original movie directed by Gina Prince-Bythewood and written by comic book writer Greg Rucka. It follows a group of immortal mercenaries on a revenge mission after they're betrayed and their identities are at risk of being exposed.

I watched it yesterday and I def enjoyed it. The thousand year old soulmates were great, and idk if they meant to imply Andy+Quynh, but I'm here for it.

I agree with the sentiment here it would be better as a mini series rather than a movie. It was really just getting started towards the end. And Nile at the end, whoa.

The way their immortality works is not well explained in the comics as well but they work with the concept that "when it's your time, it's your time". So even though Andy is older, the guy died first. But each one has lived to at least 200 years so it's safe to shot Nile and not fear her dying just days after she got her immortality.

I liked it but I’m also a sucker for movies about immortals that aren’t vampires. Plus you throw in badass warrior women and I’m sold. I’m hoping for the sequel so we can get more Quynh backstory.

I listened Rucka's interview on Kevin Smit's podcast yesterday, and he talked about Gina A LOT, all of it positive. It seemed like happy film set.
