I do like them bc of growing up with a superfan dad, but they were influenced by so many other artists that it is crazy they were the ones to achieve decades-long music god status.

well yeah, as compared to the Black people they stole from. other whites also didn't get the same level of fame/staying power, either.

“With or Without You” was my ex’s and my song. That damn song was fucking unavoidable after we ended things. I’m back to loving it though.

Can't stand Ed Sheeran or Bieber. I was getting my hair colored blue a few years back, and it took hours, and "Shape of You" played about 100 times. It was horrible. Every time it played, the hair stylist was like, "It's back! Ugh!" And then there's that shit song, "Love Yourself," with Bieber lecturing some woman on her vanity, which just makes me want to punch a hole through his face.

Fun fact: Ed Sheeran wrote the misogynistic Love Yourself. So you get to hate two assholes for the price of one.

i can't get into Tori Amos.
She's very talented. I'm sure. She can sing, great live performer, etc.
I just...don't...CARE.
I vaguely tried, but i just can't.

She has a rabid fanbase that will follow her on multiple shows for each tour. She varies the setlist every night to keep it interesting.

My friend even dragged me to a local show one time.
She's fine. I JUST WAS SO BORED (but i was sleep deprived that night, so i kept leaving the floor to get a drink and walk around to keep from falling asleep).

She ended the show with the Purple Rain sounding song "Hey Jupiter" and i fell in love with THAT song.

Yeah I wish I got the love for Tori when I love Fiona Apple and Regina Spektor but she eludes me.

I like a few of her songs but agree, I've never gotten the fanfare for her. Even in her own very niche genre of 90's alternative female singer/song writers I thought a lot of her contemporaries were more interesting than her.
