This show was incredibly underwhelming. All of the characters besides the kid and Klaus were annoying as shit and most of their problems could have been solved by having a conversation with each other. I cannot believe they got a second season.
I haven't watched this so idk any of the context but "most of their problems could have been solved by having a conversation with each other" is my absolute most-hated trope/plot device, it's so lazy.
Yeah on this show it's less "misunderstandings that could have been solved by a simple telephone call" and more "joint trauma of a terrible childhood that results in no one being able to discuss their feelings in a healthy way".

They very much have been raised to never talk to each other or disclose the various individualized ways their “dad” messed them up. Plus the 30 odd years of complied trauma, drugs, abuse, resentment, betrayal, and death that hangs over all of them. Like, one of them literally went missing for almost two decades and another died doing child solider activities. And they just...kept it pushing. Talking is like...three major therapy steps away from where any of them are
