OP this is probably the best ONTD original I can remember seeing, thank you so much for the effort you have put into this and spread the word. No offense to you, but I hope Buzzfeed steals this post!

I hope someone high profile in the horror industry like Jordan Peele says something to help get the media to be taking this more seriously. On the other hand, I feel like nobody really high profile tends to call almost anyone out... :( Heavy lifting always left to the little guy.

I had no idea this was a specific problem in the horror world, but ngl I can't help but think this mindset is what's leading these men, YET AGAIN, to think they're ~misunderstood and persecuted by the world and therefore entitled to take what they want. Kind of like how incels think the world/women owes them something. (No offense to the Twitter OP, I'm sure she doesn't think of it in a malevolent way.) Fucking awful.

You are totally right, and the irony is they are saying these things while having massive conventions, a thriving online presence, a unique creator to fan connection not found with many other genres, and channels and streaming services devoted entirely to the genre. How can you be outcasts when that's the case? They just love being victims because they weren't popular in middle school.
