That Impractical Jokers movie sounds absolutely terrible.

def seeing emma this weekend, can not wait. may as well see brahms too but that 2 at the end keeps making me think it's a sequel (is it a sequel???) oh well

i'm so baffled about seberg's re-release. also amc lincoln WAS going to show it this weekend but dropped it like 2 days ago for more emma screenings, which cracked me up. then the angelika is giving out free tix to showings all weekend. WHY is this movie being re-released???

i was checking tonight's screenings for 'the call of the wild' and oof the 6pm shows are empty as hell. it's gonna bomb bad and sonic's gonna kill it again

It is a sequel! The original is a 2016 movie called The Boy, but I think the original actress had scheduling conflicts so they got Katie Holmes for the sequel.

And lol, I have nooooooo idea what they are doing with Seberg either, but that's annoying that AMC doesn't have it. Everything that's limited release in LA goes to Arclight/Landmark/Laemmle instead of AMC and it drives me insane.

our limited is almost always amc lincoln and an indie theater (angelika, ifc, etc) so it's weird they just dropped it. i always gotta trudge uptown just to see indie releases sigh

But I thought in the original The Boy movie, it wasn't actually a ghost? And the real Brahms died or something? Idk how this movie can continue the story?

I love Impractical Jokers but the movie doesn't seem like it will be good.

We watched The Handmaiden last night (via Amazon Prime).

I liked it a lot - the stylization was appealing, the story was intriguing, the two female leads were fantastic, and the 2 1/2 hour run time flew by. But it went from relatively tastefully shot sex scenes at the start to more male-gazey ones as it went on, which I thought was an odd choice considering the subject matter. Still thought it was good and would recommend, though definitely not for watching with your parents.

Debating going to a screening of Emma tomorrow with a director Q&A at Arclight. I think Anya Taylor-Joy is doing ones in NYC, if that's helpful for anyone!

I'm also thinking about going to see something this afternoon - trying to decide whether I'd rather revisit something I've already seen and loved (Portrait of a Lady on Fire, Birds of Prey) or check out something new. Not entirely sure I'll leave the house at all, though, I am feeling rather lazy.
