Backstory for our non-Canadians: Tanner Zipchen was the host of Cineplex's pre-movie show. Ie, the ads/previews/trivia portion one sees before a movie begins. When he was hired in 2015, Cineplex paid him 52,000 Scene points (frequent movie-watcher points) a year, equating to 1,000 a points a week to be "cashed in" for a free movie. That is some bullshit. Tanner deserved a salary. Cineplex, the Source, Scotiabank and all the other companies he helped shill for should be called out for this.

Cineplex is so cheap and eager to earn money. I saw Frozen II at a Cinplex not long after it came out and there was 20 minutes of commercials after the lights went down before the previews.

I have 2000-ish Scene points currently because of Frozen II and because I always choose Landmark.

I have about 5k scene points. I think scene, airmiles and pc optimum are really the only loyalty programs I use.

Ok wow that is a lot if info to take in at once.

1. I'm so used to seeing his face telling me it is time for "TimePlay" and he is not going to be there anymore?

2. HE WAS PAID IN SCENE POINTS?? so free movies and Harveys? He always seemed to be doing new stuff for the pre shows, so fuck Cineplex

3. Cineplex was bought?? I mean.. fuck Cineplex for point 2, but I worked at one of their theaters so I have some fondness for it.

4. I have 1, 400 scene points. Go see a free movie, OP.

Lol I need to! They've been adding up because Swiss Chalet always has these "bonus 250 points" offers and I eat more chicken than I attend movies...

Also who knows what will happen to Timeplay with the new company; it's bad enough they give ranks 2-10 like 5 points now!
