I must be strange for many people because I like the three companions. I get the feeling one will be leaving this season, though. Seems to be setting up the dynamic.
I like them, too! I do think they could do more with them, especially with their (lack of) relationship to the Doctor, but this season is already doing exactly that so I'm actually interested how that's gonna go.
I'm very much enjoying the relationship that the companions have outside the doc, too. Like Ryan and his friends/father. Yas and her family dynamics, and Graham finding a life outside Grace and Ryan--which must be hard at times. They're also working as a unit as they move past their own traumas.
Yes! I like that as well. If nothing else Chibnall really got the domestic bits down. It sure is hard to manage with 3 companions but he painted a better home-life for them than Moffat ever did.
Ryan’s friend should have been his boyfriend ngl. He has way more chemistry with him than Yaz. But I think both Ryan and Yaz are gone at the end of the season.
Also fuck waiting 18 months for a new season again.
I need them to pull the trigger on The Doctor/Yaz NOW, don't queerbait me you jerks
overall I liked this episode probably best of the season so far, which is not a great comment on this season. I really liked s11 but I've been disappointed this season. bleh. this one has been more like what drove me away during 10 & 11 - "I'm so IMPORTANT and SPECIAL I just can't have FRIENDS I'm so very SAD" which I can only take in very small doses.

overall I liked this episode probably best of the season so far, which is not a great comment on this season.
