unscripted is the smart way to go. fans want to see the six actors together more than anything else, nobody's wondering what ben and emma are up to.

It's so weird to me that once it was on Netflix it suddenly became cool to like Friends. I guess you could say the same for the Golden Girls trend in the last few years, but at least the Golden Girls is legit still funny.

America. I feel like every bridal/baby shower on my fb feed in the last year has been Friends-themed.

Unscripted? So them just role playing their characters while sitting in a line? "How would Ross react to ben's first girlfriend, David?"?

I assuming it will be just them talking and reminiscing.

It's crazy to me they're each being paying $3-4M just to sit in a room and chill with one another and reminisce about the show. lol

on top of all the crazy insane money they get from syndication. they must be rolling in so much cash it's insane.

being fair tho that 4m pricetag probably includes some promo for the streaming service besides the special. like how matthew perry is now on instagram and will probably use to plug hbo max in some way.

I feel like this is a waste of money. People won't subscribe to your streaming service for an unscripted reunion with the Friends cast/creators just so they can talk about the show, also the funny bits will probably make it to instagram/instagram tv and people will leave it at that.

exactly... I really think the internet has watered down the value of "special event" TV like this.

Oh I definitely think people will subscribe. I just don’t think they will stay subscribed.
