im only close to finishing the second game but my god, he just seems like a bland lara croft. literally nothing appealing about nathan to me, all the other characters (esp the women) seem so much more interesting

No way - all the characters are great!

And I love tomb raider, but Lara is pretty bland as a character in cut scenes.
