God, who knew we had to depend on THE BOOK OF HENRY director to possibly give us a good story.

Where's Poe?

And in Trevorrow’s script, Poe comes out as gay three minutes into the film and gets a new job as a go-go dancer for the hottest nightclub in all the galaxy Force Daddiez

We could have had it allllllllllllllll

Wow fuck JJ Abrams then for feeling like he had to change it.

These plot points sound significantly better.

You can thank that hack Kathleen Kennedy for getting cold feet and firing Treworow/cancelling his script after the The Book of Henry flopped.

I’m all for a movie that would have given Finn and Rose something to do.

I really feel that Rian didn’t want to do anything with Finn so he gave him a sidekick and sent him off on a plot that had not overall bearing on the story and JJ just continued on with that.

really? i dont feel that way at all sis, TLJ was all about getting poe/finn/luke to come around to a new way of thinking that they wouldn't have conceived of on their own.

the casino's where we learned that some people profit from the war no matter who wins. Finn and Rose at the casino taught Finn to fight for something bigger than himself and why its so important to go beyond his feelings for Rey. i never watched the old star wars movies but that scene opened my eyes to what the movies were saying and i could no longer regard it as some popcorn space fantasy garbage

Luke’s storyline runs counter to everything he did in the original trilogy. He saw the good in Vader, even when others didn’t. It made no sense that he would try to kill his own nephew and then run and hide when everything about Luke’s development runs counter to that. Luke was willing to sacrifice himself in rotj in order to keep his friends safe and make sure the bigger mission still succeeded.

As for Finn I disagree, that was his development in the first movie. Finn already saw that just because you are told or raised a certain way doesn’t mean it’s right. He didn’t run when faced with returning to the first order. They just reiterated what we and Finn already knew, that you are more than just what the world believes you to be, good or bad.

I like this better in theory, especially the no redeeming of Kylo, but Trevorwood is a TERRIBLE director, so who knows
