I kinda wonder if it’s the song is bad or if it’s Justin himself that’s waning in popularity, like i just checked and he should have way more views for Yummy on YT than the amount it has.

I think it's a bit of both. This long wait just for a song like Yummy to be his lead single. It's a good beat but it's underwhelming as a comeback single. People have moved on to other pop acts. Justin's last album release was 2015 when he was competing with 1D for the #1 spot. LOL!!

If it was the second or third single I doubt people would be as strongly-opinionated as they are, but yeah, this is supposed to be his big solo comeback song and it was... lacklustre, is putting it kindly. There's no energy or sense of real effort in the song.
