I have to admit that while I found the story in Fun Home to be interesting, I was really underwhelmed by the music? Like I felt that the songs actually distracted and detracted from the story...I think it would have been more effective as a play.

I guess I could see what you're saying with some of the songs (Come to the Fun Home or whatever it's called, the one that the kids sing), but Ring of Keys and Maps and Days and Days and Changing My Major and most especially Telephone Wire are all incredible to me.

I've read both the graphic novel and seen the play and I'm so glad it's getting a movie but I'm so over straights playing queers. I mean, Jake already did Brokeback, is he looking to drum up another oscar nom for himself? MEN ARE WEAK.

If he were smart, he'd produce the movie and cast a queer actor as the closeted father. smh!
