I love these posts, OP. I discover a lot of films because of them. I recently watched One Child Nation bc it was in one of these, and it was a great documentary

Saw 1917 yesterday and loved it. Fully engaging from start to finish, with characters you care about and a simple, relatable story that doesn't glorify war. George MacKay and Dean-Charles Chapman were both excellent, but the highlight was obviously Roger Deakins and his stunning cinematography. Would recommend.

Also watched The Aeronauts yesterday, and whew, that was the opposite of engaging. I try not to look at my phone when I am watching movies at home, but this movie didn't hold my attention worth a damn. The hot air balloon sequences would have been cool in a theater; too bad it was in like ten theaters for two weeks total. Amazon's movie acquisition and release strategies are fucking baffling to me.

On the plane ride back from visiting home, I watched Happy Death Day and its sequel. The first one was a good time, and the second one was pretty dumb, but I can think of worse ways to spend two hours. I wish the love interest from HDD was getting Noah Centineo's roles.

The death day movies are so cute! ia the dude from them is cuter and more charming than the human centipede. i like the girl too, love a strong comedy performance in what is ostensibly a horror.

The lead guy from HDD is a trump supporter and holds racist and homophobic views - a lot of bad tweets came to light after the first All the Boys, and he doesn’t have a lot coming up likely due to very bad tweets he’d had in the past -

Shame bc I actually liked him in those films too,

For whatever reason, I have legit ZERO interest in this film despite the wonderful lady cast (just never cared for the book, I guess), though I do really want to give it a chance. Unfortunately, aside from the gorgeous cinematography, Lady Bird just wasn't for me. It felt like any other white indie film I've already seen, so the hype was??? :/ By the sound of it, Little Women is fresher?

I never read Little Women as a kid, as an adult I had no interest and thought I missed the boat to be able to read a wholesome preachy book, AND I thought Ladybird was okay -

AND I LOVED LITTLE WOMEN, GO WATCH IT!!!

i watched this indie horror called Spring and it was v low budget but cute, like a lovecraftian story with the emphasis on love. the girl's outfits were all really on point, well either that or she was just hot.
