We do, but people allow him only in the form of his G&S character I think. By "people", I mean those with shit enough taste to actually watch G&S and find it entertaining or decent.

I was underwhelmed, after being so excited for its return. It wasn’t very funny, just called back to a lot of their familiar catchphrases and situations. The Call The Midwife Christmas special was similarly disappointing this year.
