I have only read the first two books.

I am on episode 3 now. I feel like it is not going in the same order as the books. Cirri did not appear until book 2 for example. So I am kind of confused by some stuff.

Yeah they're in a weird position because the order of the short stories isn't chronological so while people might expect them in a certain order, they are actually kind of free to put them where they want. And I think they're choosing the order of the stories they chose is more for thematic reasons. So it can be a bit confusing, but I get it.

I've been watching it, too, and I had never heard of it before, so I've read some Wiki pages and news articles. Apparently the three storylines are taking place at different times, and I guess ultimately will converge in the present. But they should do a better job of indicating that.

I read The Last Wish & The Sword of Destiny which are the "short stories" of Geralt traveling around with Dandelion (Jaksier as he's called in the show, but in the English translation of the novels he's called Dandelion). But the short story time-line was a mess. In the first story that is broken up throughout the book he thinks about Yennefer but he doesn't actually meet her until "The Last Wish" - the last story in the first book - so I found that really confusing when reading it because it wasn't chronological.

I've only watched 3 episodes so far. It's basically trash, but I am enjoying it. Henry Cavill is surprisingly very good, and the action and monsters are good, I would like more of that tbh. The storytelling isn't very good tho, and the flow isn't great and often I'm like wait... what ???, even though I do know a lot of the story from playing the games. My dad is watching it with me and has literally no idea what's going on lmao

It’s been two days since I have toss a coin to your Witcher stuck in my head.
At this point, I’m loving it again.

And seriously, I’m on episode 6 and I really can’t with the GoT comparisons so far.

And I’m still not over [Spoiler (click to open)]Geralt’s fuck when he realised he just claimed a child surprise tbh. It was the best bit of acting Cavill ever did.

Toss a Coin to Your Witcher slaps.

It's just a fact.

Did you listen the full version?
It’s honestly good.
It’s just that even a good song can make you go crazy when it’s stuck in your head. I’m going through cycles lol but mostly I’m even singing it out loud tbh.

I haven't listened to the full version yet, but I will as soon as I finish the series.

Even just what we heard in the episode was honestly so good!

Oh, also, I like [Spoiler (click to open)] the gimmick with the three separate timelines. I wish Yen’s hadn’t fused with Geralt so soon though. I want to see more of her going rogue mage and the past of the continent before getting caught up. Although I get it that they can’t review certain things yet.

And yes @ that Jaskier meme, OP.

Yeah I dug it but it felt like the buildup was v slow and deliberate only for all of it to catch up and intersect immediately w no buildup???? The whole djinn episode just felt very odd - how did J find him at a random pond after 10 years?? Etc

That trailer didn't excite me at all, to be honest. And the blue lenses/manip on one of the female characters.. oof.

Still, I'm a sucker for fantasy, so I will give it a chance in a few months and be surprised that everyone forgot about it because it doesn't count if you don't watch a hype show straight after release.

Trailer was BAD compared to the actual show. I was pleasantly surprised.
