The official story was that she had signed up for "Salem" and couldn't reshoot the pilot. But a lot of people seem to believe that they hired Emilia after finding her more attractive so who knows. It wouldn't shock me tbh, just knowing everything else about them.

I'll always remember that fucking scene where that one guy barges in on Dany in the bath and when she climbs out the camera just does this extended pan down her naked body for no LITERALLY NO REASON. It's a long ass shot too. She was already naked but it's like that wasn't good enough for the creeps. They needed an extreme close up because...reasons. There were so many examples like that on the show. The brothels literally felt like an excuse just to have a bunch of women walking around nude for no reason while other characters talked.

And it sucks because if Emilia felt the need to satisfy fans by being naked when she wasn't comfortable then imagine how the women who probably worried they were easily replaceable felt.

she basically said the first time she felt confident enough to stand up for herself and say no was in her death scene bc she was already out of a job so there was no risk

Hmm, I was about to say was this for GoT, b/c I'd totes see Benioff & Weiss pressuring Emilia to do nudity even after she changed her nudity clause (IIRC).

But if it is for a truly a different project, I can only think of Terminator unless that group music festival picture was pushing for nudity.

There was a blind item around season 5-ish that was about a tv actress who had a newer no nudity clause in her contract being pressured to do nude scenes again because her non-that-show roles in movies were flopping and she was basically being negged into it. Most people thought that was Emilia because she did appear naked again after it was reported she had put a clause in her contract saying she wouldn't.

Emilia not being naked is not why those films flopped, but I am not surprised in the least that Gross & Grosser/HBO would use that as an argument. It does seem that she got back some power on the nudity front, tho, b/c Kit was definitely showing more than Emilia in their S7 sex scene from what I remember (as he should). I didn't finish S8, so I don't know if they got in another naked Dany gotcha, tho.

I'm thinking it might be Terminator, tho, b/c my bf saw it and said that Mackenzie Davis (or a double) did a naked butt shot. I haven't been following its box office, but I'm assuming naked bootay hasn't resulted in a cash windfall.
