  • While on professional tool Dax Shepard's podcast Armchair Expert, Emilia Clarke talked about a project in which she was pressured to go nude. She hadn't agreed to the nudity in advance.
  • She said of the incident: “I’m a lot more savvy [now] with what I’m comfortable with, and what I am okay with doing. I’ve had fights on set before where I’m like, ‘No, the sheet stays up’, and they’re like, ‘You don’t wanna disappoint your Game of Thrones fans’. And I’m like, ‘Fuck you.’”
  • She also talked about being overwhelmed by the nudity on Game of Thrones, saying in part: "I’d come fresh from drama school, and I approached [it] as a job - if it’s in the script then it’s clearly needed, this is what this is and I’m gonna make sense of it… Everything’s gonna be cool."
  • She said between Game of Thrones and other projects, nudity was a constant and she had to reason with herself it was necessary and she'd just get on with it after crying in the bathroom.
  • She says she was lucky most of her nudity was with Jason Momoa, who made her feel comfortable and safe. She said after he had told her ‘No, sweetie, this isn’t okay,’ she realized she could set boundaries on how much of her body she was willing to show.
