Eh. I’m tired of this “if you don’t like/see ___ then you’re racist/sexist” thing. Some movies just aren’t good or they don’t look interesting enough to spend $17 on. It seems like this is a go-to excuse lately when something flops.

ONTD seems to believe lately that if you don’t like Brie Larson (or insert other white woman here) then you’re a misogynist.

for real.

i'm getting so damn tired of actual rights being eroded while every artist who has a flop insists they flopped because of an ism. to me that comes from a place of superiority and privilege where you're acting as if the world owed you a hit. if charlies angles had made bank, it wouldn't have been ~feminism~

I've been noticing this a lot lately, like there couldn't be a legit reason to dislike something or that it even has to be deeper than simply not enjoying something or someone. Some people definitely seem to believe that unless someone is horrible or has done something objectively bad you don't have a reason to dislike them which is ridiculous.

I've noticed this too, and it makes me roll my eyes

The trailer made it look like it was only 2 angels and the 3rd just tagged along for the mission.

*sigh*

i'm sure everyone will agree with her, but a bad movie is a bad movie. not everything lands. the trailers were awful. she rolled the dice on a cast of nobodies and kstew. as if she's not an actress who hasn't had a blockbuster in years.

and women and girls like comicbook stuff. it's allowed. cause we like compelling stories where women get to kick some ass, not because it's ~male~.

I love how she tried saying no one complained about all the spiderman films...but yeah, people did lmao! The most recent ones with Tom Holland got lucky in that they found a great actor to pull off both sides of his personality. The previous 2 sets of films are now universally panned.

The original Spiderman trilogy isn't universally panned?

The third one ABSOLUTELY is regarded as terrible. Even Raimi himself hates it.

Ugh I remeber someone doing this with “Black Panther” too. They watched some random black kid in the theatre. People really like to overdo this kind of stuff for twitter clout.

yashar is the fucking worst - but in this case i think he's making fun of this tweet??? brave of him to think he can pull it off tbh

I don't even like superheroes, I just like seeing diversity on the big screen. I went to Harlem to see Spiderverse a 2nd time. I sat in the front row, and rather than watch the film, I turned around watched a young black boy. I watched his laughs and smiles. It was everything.
