Casting is so random and the 3 girls altogether have no chemistry.

They don’t in he trailer but people who’ve seen it say they have chemistry in the actual movie

Well it says a lot that the chemistry didnt translate in trailers and failed to capture the interest of people... The previous versions were overflowing with chemistry from the get go.

in the movie, they do. i thought they were going for a romance between two of them. there was definite chemistry.

Damn. I would have liked this movie to be successful.

Went to see this last night, and you know what?! I really fucking liked it! It's not a masterpiece, but it's a fun action-comedy that doesn't take itself too seriously. The three leads have great chemistry together, and they all look hot as fuck to boot. I'm not surprised it's flopping, since no one was clamoring for it, but I do hope more people give it a shot.

Really some of the takes on Twitter/Reddit/etc make me want to leave the internet forever.

I agree, I went in with low expectations and I was very pleasantly surprised. I was skeptical about the combination of actresses but they worked great together!

I feel kinda bad that a female led film bombed but I also have zero interest in it so..

I mean, even if we want female lead movies to succeed, we are not obligated to care about them more than the people who made them. If I wasn't reading ONTD, I wouldn't even know this movie exist, and I'm into movies, and it's hardly a small indie production or anything like that. They need to put some effort into promoting this if they want it to succeed.

I knew this was going to tank the second that the soundtrack tanked. It's been marketed really weirdly AND the last reboot was too prolific and had way bigger stars in comparison.

They held reviews until like Wednesday or something so I assumed it was god-awful, but it's only only rotten by 1% at the moment... so I guess that's not it haha

Yeah the soundtrack tanking was a tell-tale sign. The songs were shit and you could tell they just threw a bunch of money at big name musicians (Ariana, Lana) without spending time on material that warranted their involvement-tired production, lazy lyrics, etc.

It’s weird bc judging by their approach to the soundtrack and marketing in general, I expected the movie to be a soulless cash grab that’d get universally panned. Yet surprisingly the reviews are pretty positive and seems like the movie plays well?? looks like they fucked themselves over w the embargo and their whole marketing approach in general

I think the song wasn't even necessarily bad, just very mediocre. Where they really flopped imo was the music video which was so awful

The marketing is completely abysmal. It's like the studio wants to film to flop.

How do you go from Independent Woman Part 2 to this reactionary Don't Call Me Angel? This current wave of feminism doesn't seem understand there doesn't need to be a correlation being strong and and being disrespected.

The first is an anthem about the power and freedom of financial independence and the latter is about telling/lecturing men to stop demeaning women with pet names... it's like a huge leap backwards.
