I don’t care about likes but I miss the follow tab. It was fun to spy on people.

Same lol. I think it’s good that they’re removing it. I do wonder if it’s easier for influencer to fake the amount of likes they get now though, they can just photoshop a higher number when brands request it and no one will know (cause you can still see the amount of likes on your own photos, right? or did they end up scrapping that idea?)

It's not even the first time she compares herself to her. She's delusional.

Surely she's mentioning Harriet M Welch here*, the shady 11 year old who spied on her neighborhood & friends and filled her journals of their everyday lives whilst also writing petty shit about them.

Really... all these changes are stupid and they are killing their own app.... if Instagram wanted to make a positive change they would monitor comments and reports better and bring back chronological order.

why in the world is chronological order not the standard? it boggles my mind that anyone would think that the optimum way of viewing posts...is out of order. also yes re:reporting i've reported so much bigoted/hateful shit only for a response that it doesn't qualify.

Because they make more money from advertisers if they can control what posts you see and when you see them

for like the sponsored posts? why couldn't they still control when those are posted and leave the rest of my timeline in order? i feel like i'm missing something. if my feed is mostly people i know or unverified accounts what difference does it make?

the "no visible likes" thing has been testing in Canada for months and honestly... I don't even notice? You can see your own likes and I don't give a fuck about the amount of likes other people are getting... so... it's fine

yeah, we have it in Brasil for months now and it is fine

I have been LOVING it (Canadian too). Whenever I post an artsy or concert pic on my personal insta, it'll only get a few likes compared to person pics - and it did used to make me feel kind of sad to post them but now that I'm the only one who sees the likes, I post whatever I want without feeling like I'll look lame.

Their algorithm or whatever they use will still know the likes and for professional/business accounts I'm sure getting more likes will still matter. I still like being able to check them on my bookstagram. But for personal, I really don't need to know #s for friends and acquaintances.
