people say they're embarrassed by the projects they do all the time, or that it was a 'passion project' or that they did it for fun. she didn't have to defend it but she said what needed to be said in the best way possible tbh. i like a few marvel movies here and there, but the amount of work and research on "Black Panther's" costume design team alone shits on a lot of these artsy fartsy 'real cinema' films, and a lot of those are paint by the number ' emotional' scripts designed to grab awards. i need old ass white men with big names to stfu sometimes, and stop getting upset because someone doesn't art the way they art.

Seriously, I'm sick of the ~*discourse*~ of what is considered "true art" and shitting on things that make money as inherently being less meaningful and valuable. Individual taste is one thing but trying to insist everyone adopt your ideas of what is "worthy" is super shitty and super disrespectful.
