Yes, they did. My mother watched the entirety of the show over the course of a week and I asked her if they showed the infamous suicide scene in season one to which she said no. I told her about it and how fans made a petition to censor it. She was curious about it and asked if I could maybe YouTube it for her so she could see what the hubbub was about. Thankfully, there aren't many videos of it on YouTube, save for a few live reactions showing it. She was mortified and understood why they eventually came around to censoring that entire scene altogether.
lmao @ my long-ass winded tangent there to just say, "no". Sorry! 😂
I hope so. I’ve never seen it but one of my closest friends attempted suicide in her youth the same way and she said the scene was triggering for her :(
I've only watched this show through Netflix so I never knew it existed. But I did see a short 2 second clip of Jim wearing the book costume from a flashback (Season 9 I think) and wondered where it was from.
And I think he's right. I just think it points out how ridiculous some of the oversensitivity is. Clearly a large portion of people love the show. So why would it be offensive to reboot it? And if it is insensitive, why aren't people fighting the showing of reruns constantly.
I wanted to punch him in his smudge face for not wanting to wear the Popeye costume for Pam. He supposedly adores this woman and is known for "big Jim gestures" yet is still too afraid to look ~dorky~ in front of his peers. I know he comes around in the end, but he should have done it to begin with.
