i feel bad for her. i know everyone hates the royal family and i'm not defending the usefulness of the monarchy. but the tabloids have made things so hard for her. all she did was fall in love and want to get married and have a family. and it's not even that 99% of the criticisms are about anything valid either, they're laced in misogyny and racism.

Mte. I would say she was like..a “d list” celeb before she met harry. To go from barely being famous to becoming a household name AND marrying into the royal family must be so isolating/overwhelming. I don’t think she expected it.

same? i like her, but nobody marries into that family if they don't want the money, fame, and prestige. how wouldn't she realistically know how brutal it could be?

She was also an American teenager at the time. Social media wasn't even a thing back then. I think it's a stretch to think that a teenager living in California in the 90s would have a complete understanding of what Diana went through. We all just liked her, knew she had some shit with the BRF but was a very charitable person and knew that she died tragically.
