Lebron’s worse than a coward. A coward would have just stayed silent but he chose instead to be a CCP mouthpiece.... shameful.

Enes Kantar subtweeting the fuck out of him was the highlight of this whole mess. Talk about actual fucking courage and standing up to a tyrannical regime in the face of unbelievable pressure and actual danger to not only yourself but your family. And IRL hero.

The problem is, I this he IS educated... there’s no way he doesn’t know what’s happening in Hong Kong, there’s no way he hasn’t heard about the Uighur concentration camps by now

He made a choice that the money was more important (also he wants Space Jam 2 to have a Chinese release date)

Yen over everything.

Yen is the Japanese currency, not China's.

Lebron ain’t shit; he’s cowering because of how much of his and his friends’ money is involved.

All the “enraged” racists who don’t give a single damn about Hong Kong or human rights and are only using this as an excuse to get their anti-blackness on aren’t either though.

i wish more chinese people would at least TRY to understand that criticizing the government isn't the same as criticizing the culture and the people but so many of them choose blind nationalism instead

I was friends with this chinese intl student and I cant even begin to understand that level of brainwashing and resignation. I dont think it's even possible to get the young generation to understand unless they already dont want to be in China.

It isn't just people in China either, sadly. I've heard from so many Asians that they think all this criticism is being lobbied against China because the West is racist and doesn't want there to be a superpower in the East, which, while probably valid, doesn't discount any of the atrocities committed by the Chinese government.

someone on Reddit explained it as "imagine your mom and all the wonderful memories y'all had together and then someone tells you that your mom killed 500 people and is a serial killer, and that she's a horrible person. you wont believe it because your mom is nothing but nice to you and its hard to see her in a new light." not exactly his words but the gist if the message.

so i kinda get it but at some point aren't you critical? if most people are talking bad about china then there must be something there. like we all know china(like any country) isnt a great place esp if your not connected.

funny story. i have a friend and was "like i left Kentucky, to go to china and i realized that living in china is more depressing than living in Kentucky" so she came back lol.
